Sauce Barbershop & Lifestyle

Project : Barbershop | Retail
Location : Soho, Hong Kong
Located in the vibrant street of Elgin Street, Soho, the shop embraces its narrow and long space by placing barber chairs along one side, and allocating the raised platform to the retail, lounge and events space.
Allowing visibility and natural light in, the glass facade is cut in three different heights, stepping-up, following the slope of Elgin Street, signature of these pedestrian streets in Soho.

Raw.
Opting for an industrial, raw look, the design position allows for exposed ceiling and conduits, with rough concrete finish for the floor and walls.
Bare, bright linear tube lights accentuate the rawness of the design. Mirrors are frameless, tall and mounted on the wall.

Chic.

Bespoke stainless steel cabinets and blackened stainless steel shelves punctuate the space. Vintage stainless steel trolleys add a timeless dimension to the barber area, while neon signs made in Hong Kong elegantly recollects the historical neon scenes of Hong Kong.
Indoor / Outdoor.

Playing with its key location, Sauce's facade transforms throughout the day.
Traditional black blinds allow privacy for private events, while the window opens to an outdoor counter to enjoy casual chats (or people watching!).
At night, both neons and bright ceiling tubes make the interior space glow, adding a unique feature to the neighbourhood.

Flexibility.

Mobile elements such as barber tools trolleys and reception desk allow maximum flexibility and functionality.
The reception desk is a pure expression of stainless steel on wheels. Providing plenty of storage, it easily converts from service counter, to bar, to DJ booth.
